Google's new link filter continued...

Ok, well, it looks like the new filter isnt the end of the link trading world :)

*Some* of the links we posted about a month and a half ago are starting to show up. Also, though there have been no signs in terms of listed backlinks, I'm seeing some position boost on links posted more recently. Looks like linking for Google involves waiting for results for awhile, which is pretty much SOP for Google anyhow.

Google's new link filter

I just got a Web Pro News email in which they mentioned what I had already guessed. Google probably has a new incoming links filter that affects SEO efforts.

The article is here: http://www.webpronews.com/insiderreports/searchinsider/wpn-49-20050407GooglesNewLinkFilter.html#google

The effect is most likely similar to the sandbox, but I havent gotten any new links posted to Google in about a month now, so I'm not sure for how long the filter applies.

If you are doing SEO or have hired an SEO firm for your site, then at least plan on 60-90 days to see anything when working with linking campaigns (I tell my clients 3 months).

MSN is currently a much faster responder when doing linking (SEO's, you can use MSN to show quick results to your clients), and linking seems to have much less effect in general when optimizing for Yahoo.

If anyone knows anything concrete about Google and the current linking slowdown then please post or e me :)
